Steve Carell, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Wayne Brady, Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill, Mindy Kaling and Andy Samberg are all known for their success in TV and film, but did you know they all started in improv? Improv is a form of theatre in which scripts are completely eliminated allowing the actor to create the scene and tell the story in the moment. Simply put: make it up as you go.
During these two weeks, students will be introduced to various forms of games and learn both short and long form improvisation. Through daily exercises and off- site trips, students will be exposed to the arts and pop-culture: the very things that inspire great comedy. In these games, students will naturally assemble teams in which they will perform and compete. The program will culminate with a traditional Improv Show, showcasing our teams. No previous theatre or improv training required!
